F.A.Q

General things to know:

  1. Tattoos based on paintings MUST be at least 6 Inches. Anything smaller is not guaranteed to last long or heal well.

  2. Pricing is hourly, The hourly rate is $200. If you have a specific budget then the design can be adjusted to fit the budget as long as it is within reason. (Example a full arm forearm cannot be done with a $300 budget)

  3. Heavy black work and DnD themes are prioritized

HOW DOES AN APPOINTMENT WORK?:

Inquiry

  • Send an inquiry through the "Contact" tab on the Gabby Winchester website.

  • The Inquiry should clearly state What the subject matter of the tattoo is, the approximate size, approximate location, budget (if needed), and style preference (Heavy black work, Thin line work with light shading, only line work, etc)

  • If the website allows you to attach a reference photo, please attach a reference for the subject matter and style. (If the website is funky and does not allow pictures or only one, that's okay!)

  • I get a fairly high frequency of inquiries, and I answer them myself regularly. Please have patience. I typically will answer emails on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

    Correspondence

  • It will take me AT MOST a week to respond. My response days are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • If you don't receive a response in a week (and you’ve already checked your spam folder) please let me know via DM on my Instagram or resend a form.

    Consultations

  • Consults can be done virtually or in person and take approximately 10-30 minutes.

  • During the consultation, we will discuss your design, timing, budget, your preferences, etc.

  • If you are getting an illustrative tattoo that requires drawing, you can look at the “Sketch” Category.

    Pricing

  • I will give you an estimate during the consultation. If we go above the estimated time, you will not be charged extra for that time.

  • If a tattoo estimate is over your anticipated budget we can also discuss options such as, breaking up tattoo sessions to make them more affordable or simplifying the design to reflect your budget.

    Deposit

  • I take a $100 deposit for tattoos for 4 hours and under, and $200 for 5 hours and above.

  • Your deposit comes off the final price of the tattoo (Ex: if your tattoo is $600 and you left a $200 deposit, the total you pay the day of will be $400.)

  • This deposit holds your appointment, If you book a tattoo without one your appointment day is not guaranteed.

  • Your deposit covers drawing costs. If 2-3 drawing are done and the appointment is cancelled then the $100-200 deposit will be used as a drawing fee for the artist.

  • If a client does not show up to their appointment their deposit will be forfeit.

  • We ask that you reschedule at least 48 hours before an appointment.

  • If a client reschedules 4 times or more they may have their appointment cancelled and deposit forfeit.

Sketch ( For large illustrative projects)

  • Due to high demand sketches can only be sent out the Wednesday or Thursday before your appointment.

  • Drawing are done on the artists day off, so we ask that you have patience while the artist works on your sketches as well as the appointments before yours.

  • If changes still need to be made and your appointment is the following day, we can move your appointment further out for time.

  • If 3 or more changes are made and it seems as though there is a disconnect, the artist will likely recommend a more suited shop or artist. If accepted then the appointment will be cancelled.

  • If the piece is based on an already existing painting/ sculpture/ image, it will be shown the day of the appointment.

Sketches (For smaller illustrative projects under 6 inches)

  • Drawings will be shown the day of appointment.

  • An extra hour will be booked for the appointment for changing and editing the design as needed.

  • However if changes cause an overlap on a following appointment the client making edits may be rescheduled.

  • Be sure to send over references that display the style and tone for the tattoo. The artist will work with all information given during consult.

  • If the piece is based on an already existing painting/ sculpture/ image, it will be shown the day of the appointment.

    Day of appointment

  • You will need an up-to-date valid form of ID otherwise we cannot get you in that day.

  • Extra time is usually booked with my clients so that we have plenty of time to go over the design one more time and make edits.

  • (For those who have smaller designs or pre-made designs) If you find you are not happy with the design after an hour and a half I will suggest we turn that appointment into a consult so we get on the same page. We will reschedule the tattoo so I can fully draw out the new design with the edits and changes requested.

    During the tattoo

  • We can take as many breaks as you need (so long it does not affect an appointment after yours)

  • If the pain becomes more than you can manage or you have an emergency please let me know. I offer to split up the cost and appointment into 2 separate ones. It happens! Don't be afraid to tap out, we've all been there!

  • If you would prefer a silent session please let me know, I'm more than happy to let you zone out and do whatever helps you be comfortable while getting tattooed.

  • I am typically open to talking, but certain tattoos ( thin lines, complex detail, etc.) require my full attention so please do not be offended if it takes me a while to respond. I'm just focusing in.

    After tattoo

  • You can request Saniderm, otherwise, I will opt for saran wrap.

  • I will go over aftercare with you at the end of the tattoo.

  • If there are any questions about aftercare or products please email me.

Sometimes I cannot respond to everyone, so some projects will not be picked up. Lettering, single needle, and color work will typically not be picked up. I do not specialize in these so I can only recommend someone who can do them better.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
